Bank of Canada conducted a lifecycle assessment of Canada's polymer banknotes and cotton-paper which took a 'cradle-to-grave' approach. The included analysing the complete cycle which included raw materials, manufacturing process, distribution, circulation, processing, and disposal at end-of-life of banknotes.
