CCL Secure is a trusted partner of central banks. Our global network of production plants enable us to combine exceptional business continuity and contingency planning with genuinely localised expertise.
We operate three manufacturing sites that are strategically stratified across regional markets, in Australia, Mexico and the UK. They each have dedicated teams of technical and customer support staff to ensure our polymer banknote solutions are effectively tailored to local needs.
This global network is bolstered by the backing of CCL Industries, an international powerhouse with around 200 production sites in more than 40 countries, and complemented a robust network of industry partners.
Our Business Continuity Policy is aligned to ISO22301. This ensures there can be no single point of failure within the production of polymer substrate. Each of our three production plants is capable of producing polymer substrate to any central bank’s specifications, and with a capacity of over 400,000 reams, we should still be able to produce the polymer substrates without any delay in delivery.
Our sites in Australia, Mexico and the UK can produce additional capacity to suit a central bank’s production requirements if a Business Continuity Event or significant, unforeseen change in demand occurs.
We are the only polymer substrate supplier with multiple production lines across multiple sites, and approved secondary suppliers are also in place for every key component included in CCL Secure’s products.
CCL Secure Australia operates in a high-security zone alongside the Reserve Bank of Australia's National Banknote Distribution Centre and Note Printing Australia, in Craigieburn, Victoria, on the outskirts of Melbourne. This campus is adjacent to Innovia Film’s production plant, which is one of only two sites capable of manufacturing banknote-grade polymer films Propanote™ Clarity C and Propanote™ Opacity W.
The site serves various central banks including those of Vietnam, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. With two production lines and a research and development line, it's the world's most unique banknote precinct.
In 2015, CCL Industries invested GBP40 million in a state-of-the-art production facility in Wigton, Cumbria, ahead of the Bank of England’s transition to a full family of GUARDIAN™ banknotes. As in Australia, CCL Secure and Innovia Films are co-located in the UK. It is the second site capable of producing Clarity C and Opacity W films, and supplies polymer substrate to central banks in England, Nigeria, Romania and Nicaragua, among others.
CCL Secure's plant in Mexico is situated in Querétaro, not far from Innovia Film's recycling centre in Zacapu, which helps streamline the recycling process for polymer banknotes at end-of-life. The Querétaro plant houses one production line and produces polymer substrates for Central and South American countries including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala. The plant has also produced polymer substrate for several South African countries, including Mauritania, Mozambique and Nigeria.
