‘Centenary of the Formation of the Polish Legions’ Guardian™ Polymer Banknote Launched
5 August 2014
Warsaw, Poland - The National Bank of Poland (Narodowy Bank Polski) has launched its first banknote issued on Guardian™ polymer substrate.
The banknote, which commemorates the centenary of the formation of the Polish Legions, has the face value of 20 Złoty and features an image of Belvedere Palace in LATITUDE™ - the world’s first substrate-integrated diffractive optically variable device (DOVD) using silver nanoparticles that are not restricted to patch or stripe formats.
In the top left, the new note also includes a two-colour AURORA™ feature - delivering large and obvious colour shifts in the shape of tree leaves and the number 20 - as well as blue METALIX™ - a metallic effect designed in the eye-catching shapes of a large X with blue ribbons.
All security features are built to last well-beyond the already long life of a Guardian™ banknote.
