CCL Secure supports development of next-generation talent
5 February 2020
CCL Secure proudly sponsored three teams from the Nelson Thomlinson School (NTS) competing in the F1 in Schools North West Region Finals this January 2020.
F1 in Schools is a social enterprise offering students from around the world an engaging and competitive way to learn Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) skills.
After an early start, the NTS students aged from 11-17 years set up their pit displays and received a judge’s briefing. From there, they presented their business enterprise to officials from F1 and then competitively raced their cars.
Our Engineering Manager Gary Frizell attended the event in Bolton, United Kingdom, saying it is important for CCL Secure to give back and support the next generation of up-and-coming talent in engineering and technology.
“The content of the pupils’ portfolios was of a very high standard and presenting in front of F1 officials will increase their confidence and employability skills. CCL Secure is delighted to be supporting and mentoring the F1 in Schools teams at NTS,” he said.
“It was clear the teams put in a lot of time and effort to reach the standards they achieved on the day, under the scrutiny of the judges. It was very impressive.”
The NTS F1 in Schools teams were very successful on the day, with Team Supernova taking out third place and Team Skylark winning second to progress onto the national finals in April.
